Phillip Island
Phillip Island situated in Western Port. It is a place of natural beauty, sandy beaches, serene wetlands and exceptional wildlife experiences.
Watch hundreds of Little Penguins return to their burrows during the famous Penguin Parade, get to know koalas dozing in their treetop homes at the Koala Conservation Centre or sail past Australia's largest colony of fur seals. The island also offers plenty of opportunities for water sports within sheltered bay beaches on the northern side of the island and wild surf beaches on the south coast.
The Nobbies Centre is Australia's newest marine attraction. Investigate and discover the secrets of the incredible southern marine environment including seals, sharks and dolphins via interactive displays and cameras that allow you to zoom in and out on these marine creatures.
San Remo is the entrance to Phillip Island and an important fishing port. Pick up a fresh lobster from popular local fishing co-op or charter a fishing boat and try casting catching some fish yourself.
The first town on the island is the little fishing village of Newhaven where you can surf one of the best surf beaches in Victoria or walk down the Cape Woolamai. On the south-east tip of the island is the quiet village of Rhyll where Koala Conservation Centre is situated. Famous wetlands at Rhyll Inlet allow you to observe a number of waterbirds.
Cowes is the main commercial centre of Phillip Island and has numerouse cafes and restaurants for visitors to enjoy.
